Mrs. Johnson's and Mrs. Lawlor's Kindergarten Class

We are learning...

Language Arts and Reading: We are reading books about polar animals: Arctic Animals by Melvin and Gilda Berger, Antarctic Animals by Melvin and Gilda Berger, and Penguins by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfeld. We are working on writing an informational paragraph about polar animals. Our goal is to write 3 facts. Ask your student to tell you how to begin and end a sentence!

Math: We have been reviewing for our 9 weeks math assessment. Students have learned about shapes- solid and flat, patterns, ordinal numbers to 10, money- penny, nickel, dime, and positional words. We made some graphs this week too....gingerbread cookie graphs!

Science/ Social Studies: We have been learning about polar animals. Ask your student to tell you about where polar bears, penguins, and reindeer live! We are learning about ways people celebrate holidays for their culture.
