Red Ribbon Week at LSE

At the elementary level, our language for Red Ribbon Week (and every other week, too) is: "We say no to bad ideas" and our focus is resisting negative peer pressure in general. We love how the Apex Fun Run theme supports positive choices for our students!

Communication is key for keeping your child healthy and drug free. And, research shows that we actually begin laying this groundwork as early as age 3. Below are some helpful tips for raising a drug-free child. You can also pick up your own parent guides from the red ribbon basket in the front office this week.

We will honor Red Ribbon Week with positive messages and the following "fun dress" days:

Monday - Team Up for Good Choices! (Wear your favorite team jersey)

Tuesday - We are TuTu smart to Tie up with Bad Choices! (Wear tutus or ties)

Wednesday - We can't hide our Lone Star pride! (Wear camo)

Thursday - Run Towards your Goals in Life! (Dress for the Fun Run and Enjoy!)

Friday - We have Good Character at Lone Star! (Book Character Dress Up Day)

We are Excited!

We are so excited for our upcoming Fun Run! Parents, please come up and join us! We will need help marking laps on shirts, working the water stations, and cheering on our runners.

Fun Run Schedule:
8:45 - PreK and Kindergarten

9:45 - 4th grade

10:45 - 3rd grade

11:45 - 1st grade

1:25 - 2nd grade

Parents, THANK YOU for your support of our Fun Run! Remember that this is our only major fundraiser of the year. Last year we were able to purchase a class set of laptops or tablets for each grade level due to the fundraising efforts of our families. We appreciate everyone's involvement!

What If.... You Lived on a Floating City?

Our district is posting a WHAT IF question each Monday to connect with local and global answers. We will share this picture & question on Instagram and Twitter on Monday morning. If you want to share your child's answers please tag @lse_montgomery and #MISDWhatIf
