The Elementary Edition
January 2021
Dear Elementary Families,
To our remote learning families, THNAK YOU for ensuring that students are prepared to learn when google meets occur and work is completed each day.
We know the challenges that you face as working parents navigating school on a level that you never expected. Thank you for reading our communications and rolling with the seemingly daily changes occurring as we navigate guidance and restrictions set forth by NYS. Although this is frustrating at times, your patience and support is felt and heard, and needed.
I wish you all a happy and healthy new year! Bring on 2021!
Sincerely,
Jen Mueller
Cold Weather Reminders!
Dear Parents:
At this time of year, it is a good idea to talk with your children about cold weather safety. Extra care is needed to be sure that frostbite does not occur.
Please review the Elementary Recess Guidelines below. We need your help in making sure all children have appropriate outerwear every day. Warm jackets, hats, scarves, boots, and an extra pair of gloves in their pockets will protect them during extremely cold temperatures.
Please advise your child to ask for help if they have:
* Wet clothing, boots or gloves, snow or ice next to bare skin which cannot be removed.
* Pain or numbness or burning anywhere on their skin (especially hands, feet, ears, or nose).
Thank you for supporting us in keeping your child safe when playing outside in the winter weather.
