Our Corron staff is busy planning for our Halloween 2020 celebration at school. While things will look a little different than in years past, we are excited to give our students the opportunity to engage in some of the traditional Halloween festivities that we typically do at Corron. We will be working with our PTO to put a plan in place that allows for a fun time while following district and state guidelines. More details will be shared later, but here are a few things to know.

  • All celebrations will be held on Friday, October 30th

  • Students will be asked to wear their costumes to school that day. We are asking parents to keep it simple, as they will have them on all day.

  • Protective masks must be worn with the costume, and costume masks will not be allowed for safety reasons.

  • We are still not allowed to have volunteers in the building, but we will be reaching out to ask parents to support the fun in other ways.

  • We will not be able to have an all school parade as in the past (can you imagine trying to ensure 6 feet distance for 400 excited children?!?).

Please use the Sign-Up Genius below to donate items to our celebration.

Veteran's Day Celebration

On Wednesday, November 11th, at 9:00 am, Corron Elementary School will participate in a virtual Veterans Day program to celebrate those individuals who have given so much for the freedom we enjoy. We need your help to prepare for this observance.

We would like to honor our Veteran family members who have served, or are serving in the armed forces, by assembling a video slideshow of photos of our community veterans. If you would like your Veteran family member(s) included in the video, please email 1 digital picture of your Veteran(s) to our LRC assistant: Please include what Branch of Service they are/were in, their rank {if possible}, and their relationship to our Corron student(s). Only digital photos sent by email will be accepted. Digital photos of Veterans are due by Friday, October 30, 2020, no exceptions. We cannot accommodate late entries this year because it takes time to assemble the video.

In addition, if you choose to send a picture of your Veteran(s), please keep in mind that this video presentation, along with the name of your student(s), will be shared as a link, in a digital video format, with our larger Corron community. Our receipt of your photos will be your agreement to have the information and picture shared. If you prefer that only your child’s first name and last initial are shared, please let us know and we will accommodate that request.

Thank you for supporting us in showing appreciation for those who have given so much for our freedom.

If ANY member of a household becomes ill with COVID-like symptoms OR are awaiting COVID-19 test results, OR have tested positive for COVID-19, ALL students/district employees in the household MUST stay home until the symptomatic household member has provided the required documentation to the school nurse. It is up to the family to provide this documentation to all schools involved.

COVID-like symptoms include: Fever (100.4° F or higher), new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain from an unknown cause, new congestion/runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue from unknown cause, muscle or body aches. • If the symptomatic individual is evaluated by his/her doctor and an alternative diagnosis is provided, the students/district employees in the household may return to school after providing the doctor’s note with alternative diagnosis to the school nurse.

  • If no COVID testing or no evaluation by a healthcare provider of the symptomatic individual, the symptomatic individual will need to stay home 10 calendar days from onset of symptoms and ALL other students/district employees living in the household will need to stay home 14 calendar days from the onset of symptoms. Return to school will require a note from a parent/guardian indicating that the ill household member is fever-free without fever-reducing medication and that symptoms have improved.
