Daily 3 Math Series -Session 1 - Math with Someone
In a similar fashion to the way that Daily 5 teaches our students to be independently engaged in literacy activities, Daily 3 Math does the same for math. The focus of Daily 3 Math is to give our students ample time to practice and explore math concepts through engaging and differentiated activities.
*How can you use math games in your Daily 3 classroom to differentiate for students of all abilities? Come shake, rattle and roll with Box Cars and One Eyed Jacks math games in session 1 of the Daily 3 Math Series.

Notice & Note - Signposts for Close Reading
(1hr.)
Good readers ask themselves questions as they read and instinctively reread when something doesn't make sense. Many of our students are not natural "comprehenders". We must explicitly teach kids how to figure out what is important in a text. We can help them learn what to pay attention to and remember, and how to notice the clues that the authors offer in their texts. In this session you'll learn strategies from the book: Notice and Note: Strategies for Close Reading, by Kylene Beers and Robert E. Probst.
