Other stuff...
Assessment Practices - Tip of the Week:
What are the keys to quality classroom assessment? Sound and productive classroom assessments are built on a foundation of the following five key dimensions:
- arise from and designed to meet the specific information needs of the intended user(s)
- arise from clearly articulated and appropriate achievement targets
- accurately reflect student achievement
- yield results that are effectively communicated to their intended users
- involve students in classroom assessment, record keeping, and communication
Parent - Teacher Conferences:
Thank you for a job well done. We received a number of positive comments regarding our conference set-up, the professionalism of our staff, and parent satisfaction with their student's progress. Great job Albion staff!
Achieve 3000:
Gina Annese, an Implementation Coordinator for Achieve 3000 will be at Albion on Tuesday, October 27. She is scheduled to meet with each Team during their regularly scheduled Team time. The purpose of her visit is to update us on new functions of the system and answer any questions Team members might have.
ICAC Assembly:
Our ICAC assembly is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21st. We will follow the schedule sent out to you by Will. ICAC
Members of the Ohio ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) task force provide free Internet safety presentations to parents and children. With new electronic devices, social networking sites, online games, and mobile apps being introduced on a seemingly daily basis, our students, more than ever, are vulnerable to being victimized by online predators who have unrestricted access to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Members of the task force seek to educate parents and children on the potential dangers associated with online activity.
Scheduled Maintenance Day:
Our first Scheduled Maintenance Day at Albion is set for Monday, October 26. Maintenance crew members will be at Albion to take care of those maintenance issues that have already been entered into the system.
If you have maintenance items to be addressed in your classroom, or that you have noticed throughout the school, please make sure you enter them no later than Wednesday, October 21. You can access the District's work order system HERE
Learning.com:
Learning.com provides K-12 solutions to support districts as they transition to digital content and build students' digital literacy skills.
Learning.com has been in place in Grades K-6 since the beginning of the year. The initiative is now entering the Middle School for grades 7 and 8. Students will work on pre-planned programs during their AA periods in the areas of digital citizenship and keyboarding. This self-paced program does not require teacher over-site, other than having Chromebooks available during students' AA period. Students will need to work on Learning.com for one AA period per week. You can learn more about Learning.com by visiting their website HERE
Before we begin Learning.com, we can discuss the program during your team meetings on Monday.
