Monday Morning Memo - Week 9
10/28/18 Let's get it!!!
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Here is my message from last week (10-21):
I want to send out a special shoutout to Paige for completing her first half marathon. What an outstanding accomplishment!
I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting with most of you over the last week and learning about your professional goals. People are setting high reaching goals for themselves which will only advance our students learning that much further. It has been amazing hearing about how you all will Sharpen the Saw as well. So many people are making time to exercise, socialize, and breathe.
The SIT has begun looking at our Mission Statements that we worked on in August. We feel confident that we're getting closer to the final statement(s) and will share that with the staff soon to review and finalize.
The PBIS team is pushing for students to be acknowledged for positive behavior. Please encourage those decisions by passing out dragon dollars and sharing "specific praise" with students as you pass them out.
ex. I noticed you were walking quietly in the hallway and were extremely safe with your pass
ex. You completed your work and showed your thinking, then worked independently afterwards while others finished.
ex. You lined up quickly in your spot and were facing forward and were being safe with your hands and feet.
Here is my message from this week (10-28):
The Trunk or Treat was a great success this past Friday. We had so many students and families come by for an evening of sugar loaded fun. Thank you Erica for stopping by and assisting with the festivities! I've included some pictures of the event below.
With Classroom Halloween Parties this week, please know we will have games available in the Library and Computer Lab available for students that don't celebrate Halloween. Please let me know if you have any students that will need to come down and respect their families wishes.
We have a half day this upcoming Wednesday with Professional Development starting at 12:30.
Please take a look at our Agenda below:
12:30-2:00 - LLI Kit Training: (Y5-5)
2:00-3:30 - Reflex Webinar: (2-5) & SIPPS Training (K-1)
Thank you for the team of individuals that have been working tirelessly getting our LLI Kits ready for our students to use and learn from. These are outstanding resources to use during Readers Workshop and I believe that we'll be able to meet many of our students needs when we dive into using them.
Thanks for all you do and have a great week!
Ali

Nuts and Bolts - Updated 10/14/18
- Please be sure to notify Emily and Kathie if there are changes to your specials schedules. Their students have mandated general education hours and its extremely important that they attend their specials.
- Please continue to send any PTO Ambassador forms to the office.
- Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
- Dragon Dollars have been passed out and used for students in (Y5-3) for our weekly raffles. The school store will be available for students in grades (4-5). Students in grades (Y5-3) can save up their Dragon Dollars if they would like to spend them once they reach 4th or 5th grade.
- Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
