Roosevelt Information

It's almost time...are you excited? ready? We sure are, and we can't wait to see everyone at entrance conferences next week. A few reminders so you can stay in the know:

~ Wanna order some cool Roosevelt gear? Below are the instructions if you would like to order some super cool Roosevelt swag/gear. The store will remain open through SEPTEMBER 19 with orders completed approximately 2-3 weeks after that date. UTE will deliver all orders to school, and the orders will be individually packaged and boxed by homeroom teacher. You can view the site directly HERE, AND the PTO hopes to have shirt sizers available to look at/try on at entrance conference time. Stop by the gym to take a look at the shirt styles and sizes.

~ Come to the gym during Entrance Conferences to do any number of things:

1) Visit with some familiar faces, including me!

2) Pick up some school supplies if needed (we have LOTS).

3) Choose an apple off the apple tree and purchase some needed classroom items for teachers.

4) Take a look at the Roosevelt gear that you can order online with UTE. You'll be able to see t-shirt samples and sizes (hopefully).

~ Need a job? Might this interest you? I am still on the hunt for a 3-hour cafeteria supervisor, 10:15-1:15 each day school is in session. It might be just the job you're looking for, with great hours and a chance to work with amazing kids. You'd get to work with two other supervisors, so there's be great support to make this successful for everyone. If you're interested, do not delay in contacting me! Email is probably best (ahagge1@isd77.org). Roosevelt Raccoons would love to have YOU!

~ Backpack Food Program: Here is the link to sign up for the Backpack Food Program. Please note there are two parts to enrollment:

1) Complete and submit this household information page
2) At the end you will be provided a unique link to enroll your child(ren) with another form -- this must be completed or we will not have the identifying information to get your child(ren) their food.

The following household questions do not have any effect on your child(ren)'s eligibility for our program. All the information provided will be anonymous and utilized by FOCP for data and grant purposes. We do not collect identifying information and your responses are confidential.

~ MAPS Health Protocols: As you are likely aware, the MAPS Health Protocols were approved by the school board at this week's meeting. Mask wearing for K-8 students is part of this protocol. Much like last year, building stamina to wear masks throughout the day is something that families should be working on now.The Mankato Clinic has a 30-day plan to help kids learn to wear masks. It is worthwhile information for you as you plan for kids returning to school. Your positive attitude, your willingness to communicate that masks help the greater good, and your attention to building students' stamina is just what is needed for success. Thank you!

~ Masks: You might want to add "masks" to the school supply list this year. While we will certainly give out masks to students who do not bring one, this is not something that we can do every single day for every student. We simply do not have an unlimited supply of masks. We need your help in making sure that students come to school with a mask. If you'd like to donate masks to the office and/or your child's classroom, please know we would welcome any/all donations!

~ Important Dates & Information: Entrance conferences will be held September 8 and 9 with school starting for elementary students on Friday, September 10. School hours are 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Students may NOT arrive on the Roosevelt playground before 7:35 AM. The first student bells rings at 7:50 AM and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 AM. More specific information about arrival and dismissal procedures will be communicated at your child's entrance conference.

~ Breakfast: More details to come about this, but the current plan is for students to eat breakfast in their classroom if this wish to eat breakfast at school. Students will eat straightaway when they come inside, so please work to have your child to school on time.

~ School Pictures: These will NOT be taken during entrance conferences. Due to the uncertainty of how conferences would look, coupled with the fact that we had to choose dates last spring, we went with a more traditional school picture approach. These are currently scheduled for during the school day on Friday, October 8. Thank you for your flexibility with this change. We are hopeful that we can bring these back to our entrance conferences next school year.

We will see you back to Roosevelt next week!
