Good things are headed your way...
Dear Audubon Colleagues,
It’s been a pleasure working with all of you during my first year with Methacton School District. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of students and awesome staff. While I’ve gotten to know many of you well, and I look forward to strengthening those relationships, I am also looking forward to making new connections with those of you who I don’t cross paths with often enough.
May is Better Hearing and Speech Month and I will be using the upcoming weeks as an opportunity to spread the word on how I can help our students, help you and maybe even someone in your family, by sharing information from my field. I will send out weekly emails with various topics (see list below) that I feel will benefit you both personally and professionally.
I've been fortunate during my 8 years as a speech pathologist to have worked in a rehabilitation hospital and trauma center along with outpatient clinics, in addition to the public schools. While the students at Audubon are my top priority, I continue to treat adults with swallowing, voice, language and cognitive disorders following head & neck cancer, strokes or traumatic brain injury in my spare time. I truly love what I do and I look forward to using my experiences and background knowledge to better serve the students and staff of Audubon. I share all this with you because I am always open to any questions that you may have. We all know someone who has been affected by dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury or head & neck cancer and often, a speech pathologist's input is beneficial for meeting their dynamic needs.
I really hope that you enjoy the weekly topics. If someone has an anonymous question, please feel free to leave it in my mailbox and I will respond at the bottom of the following week’s email. If there are any topics that you would like me to address in the future, please let me know.
I'm really excited about this opportunity to celebrate Better Hearing & Speech Month with you!
~ Christina
