Math and Literacy
In math we will revisit the concept of sorting. Children will practice sorting objects by a single attribute and describing the sorting rule used. We will also discuss how we can sort collections of objects in different ways such as by size, color, or shape.
In literacy we will continue to focus on hearing and identifying the specific sounds in words. Over the last few weeks we have practiced identifying the first sound we hear in words. This week we will expand on this concept by identifying the last sounds we hear in words as well as identifying where we hear a specific sound. For example, I might ask a child where they hear the "b" sound in the word bat or the word tub. They hear the "b" sound at the beginning of the word bat but at the end of the word tub.
Please continue practicing letter recognition, sounds, sight words (if your child is working on sight words,) and number recognition at home!
