Covid Protocol Updates
This plan is to meet all orders by the Governor, TEA, UIL and all public health orders. This plan may also be expanded, modified or eliminated, as needed, throughout the school year.
Daily Self-Assessments & Positive COVID Test Results - Students should self-assess daily and stay home if ill or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Contact the school nurse if your child tests positive for Covid-10, is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or has come in close contact with someone testing positive for COVID-29. Students may return to school once he/she is free of fever for 24+ hours and symptoms have improved. Also, students should consider wearing a face mask when returning if prior to the end of the 14 days. GCCISD will communicate positive COVID-19 cases using the online COVID Dashboard. The Dashboard will serve as primary communication to parents and community members.
Face Coverings & Desk Shields - Face coverings, masks and desk shields are optional. Students and/or parents may request a desk shield to use in the classroom. Please contact your child's teacher if a desk shield or face mask is needed.
Visitors/Family Members - Visitors are allowed on campus for conferences and/or scheduled meetings, after passing the COVID assessment screening questionnaire. All other visitors, guests and events are not permitted for the second nine weeks of school. Parents may drop off lunches, but are not permitted to eat lunch at school. The number of active COVID-19 cases will determine if this restriction will be removed.
