Sputnik #1

The 1st Sputnik mission was able to accomplish the first Human made object to orbit the Earth.
Sputnik was the size of a basketball but weighed about 183 pounds! The Sputnik mission sparked the space race between the U.S.A and the Soviet Union. Sputnik was launched on October 4, 1957, at Tyuratam.

Sputnik #2

Sputnik #2 was the first mission to send a animal in to space. It was a dog and it's name was Laika. It was launched on November 3, 1957.It's Orbit Mass was 508.3kg.

Sputnik 11 was the first spacecraft to ever carry a human. His name was Yuri A. Gagarin. The launch was on April 12, 1961, 25 days before U.S's first suborbital flight.

Sputnik 21 was a attempted Venus flyby mission. It was launched September 12, 1962.

In the mission of Sputnik #25 they tried to have a lunar soft landing. It was launched on January 4, 1963.
