Sunday, November 21-Newsletter for the Wilder Community

Welcome to Week 12!

Greetings Wilder Family,

Thanksgiving is a beautiful time to gather with family and friends and to be thankful for our many blessings. On behalf of the Wilder staff, I want to thank you for your continued support and the opportunity to serve your family! Henrico County Public Schools will be closed November 24-26 in observance of the holiday. We have asked teachers and staff to unplug until our return on Monday, November 29. Our students are also encouraged to spend the holiday relaxing, playing, and making memories!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! 😊

~Mrs. Broudy

Wolverine Weekend Kits

The Wilder community is so fortunate to have two partners this year who want to assist our students with weekend snacks and meals. Thanks to Anointed New Life Baptist Church and St. Andrews UMC, beginning in November, we will be able to offer Wolverine Weekend Kits! These kits will be available on a limited basis and are dependent upon community donations. For more information and to request a Wolverine Weekend Kit when they are available, please read and complete this brief form: http://tiny.cc/wmsweekendkit

Guardians must approve that their scholar is allowed to receive a Weekend Kit prior to receiving one. If you’d like to assist with filling our Community Closet with donations to help make these kits available, check out our Amazon wish list for shopping ideas: http://tiny.cc/wmswishlist

For questions, more information, or if you need additional assistance, contact Mrs. Clarke at: cvtclarke@henrico.k12.va.us or (804) 335-7088-call or text.

Weekly COVID Cases 11/15-11/23

As you know, Henrico County Public Schools and Wilder Middle School are doing everything reasonably possible to keep you informed about health concerns that are connected to our school. Over the past week, Wilder has recorded 2 positive COVID-19 cases and 11 associated exposures (close contacts). All close contacts have been previously notified by building administration.

Attendance

It is important that students attend school each day and arrive on time to ensure they are receiving all of their instruction. Please see below for important information regarding attendance.

· School starts at 8:05 each day. Students are considered tardy if they arrive at 8:30 or later.

· Notify the school by calling the front office at (804) 515-1100 if your child will be absent from school. If we are not notified of an absence, your child will be marked absent unexcused automatically.

· Our attendance team regularly monitors student attendance. Families of students with five or more unexcused absences will be required to meet to develop a support plan for attendance.

· If there is anything we can do to support your efforts in making sure your child is at school every day, please reach out to your child’s school counselor or our Family Advocate, Mrs. Clarke!
