A Peek Inside the Week - April 28th, 2023
A Note from Your Principals - Multicultural Night
The informational displays, beautiful clothing, artifacts, and absolutely DELICIOUS food and drink was fantastic! More important was the high degree of pride and engagement demonstrated by our students & families who participated. It was wonderful to see students and families making connections and celebrating each of their unique cultures.
It was a great night and an awesome way to celebrate our school’s diversity - which is what makes Eli Terry the amazing community it is. Thank you to our staff who helped organize it and for all of you that came out to participate with our students and families!
Please enjoy some pictures below!
Next week our students in Grades 3-5 will begin taking our state's standardized assessment (SBAC).
Working together we can ensure each student's experience is a positive and successful one. We've certainly been preparing them at school!
Here are some suggestions you can do to help each day of the testing window:
- Ensure your child arrives to school on time. Testing in Grades 3 & 5 begins at 9AM.
- Have a child eat a healthy, filling breakfast at home (or at school!)
- Ensure your child get's a good night's sleep.
- Use positive affirmations to encourage your child to do their best!
And here's another way we can work together to support our students...
Take a quick moment to write an encouraging note to your child. Return it in a sealed, labeled envelope on Monday. We will ensure your child receives it one morning, prior to their test session!
Please see below for a reminder of the schedule. Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Spring Family Survey
As part of South Windsor’s System for Educator Evaluation and Development, each year parents are asked to complete a survey to measure how families view school and district practices related to school climate. Your responses to the survey will help teachers and administrators measure individual and school-wide goals for maintaining and enhancing a positive school climate. To help set a course for the future of South Windsor, we want to know what you think!
We understand that you are very busy, but would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to complete a short survey by Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
To submit the survey online, please click on the link below. You may use a computer, tablet, or smartphone to access the online survey.
Thank you in advance for sharing your feedback and insight!
