Attention Bearcat Club Families

Bearcat Club and Mrs. King are working to make our after-school care even better. We are working to build more activity and engagement into our afternoons and continue to have a great time with friends.

On Thursday, October 11th at 3:30 PM, two of our School of Education instructors, Dr. Kang and Mrs. Lynn, will be here to teach the children a lesson about inclusion and diversity awareness. This is the kickoff for a new partnership with the Inclusive Classrooms & Positive Learning Environments class and the Recreation for Adults with Disabilities Program. This lesson will focus on diversity and interacting with people different than themselves. We encourage all children who participate in Bearcat Club to attend on this day for the 20-minute lesson.

Beginning Wednesday, October 17th from 4:30-5:30 the Recreation for Adults with Disabilities participants will join Bearcat Club on Wednesdays to participate in recreation activities together. This will be a reoccurring Wednesday time where the children and adults will participate in activities like basketball skills and bowling. This opportunity will be a wonderful, inclusive setting, connecting our littles, bigs, and community into one weekly activity. The Bearcat Club children will continue to have supervision from our Bearcat Club workers during these activities and the adult participants will have one-on-one supervision from their college-aged student assistants.

Parents are encouraged to contact Mrs. King through Seesaw, email (lmking@nwmissouri.edu), or in person with any questions.
