Curriculum Focus-PIP's and TAM's
TAM (Transitional Academic Meeting) meetings are individual appointments with our 9th grade students. Here we discuss academics, review goal setting, and just get to know each other.
Western Area Career and Technology Center
Programs are offered in the following areas:
Automotive Mechanics, Carpentry, Child Care, Collision Repair Technology, Computer Networking, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Drafting, Electrical Occupations, Emergency & Protective Services, Health Assistant, Heating & Air Conditioning, Machine Shop, Masonry, Mechatronics & Welding.
In addition, there are opportunities for students to participate in a Co-Op or an apprenticeship experience.
Students are able to take core courses at the High School and then are transported to WACTC to participate in their program of choice. More information will be forthcoming regarding scheduling for next year including an option to attend either the morning or afternoon session.
If you have an interest in touring the facility, please contact Mrs. Laux and a private visit can be arranged.

Sam Lindsey has been named a regional finalist for the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship and has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship. He is one of 250 students selected from an applicant pool of more than 87,000 to be selected for an interview.
