What a FUN Fair Silver Springs had on Friday!
The Silver Springs PTA would first like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Kristin Gifford for all her hard work in organizing a hit of a Fun Fair. A special thank you to the A- list celebrities who helped set-up, donated cupcakes, helped out at Pie Face, helped with the cupcake walk, check in, face painting, games/bounce house, and cleanup. A HUGE thanks to Mrs. Booth, Mrs. Tomasak, Mrs. Morse, Mrs. Baker, Coach V, Mr. Wilburn, Mrs. Conover, Mrs. Yakupov, and Mrs. Charters who were such good sports and helped raise money for the PTA by taking a PIE to the face! Thank you to the Dad’s Club Dads for serving pizza and selling concessions. It takes many wonderful volunteers to be able to put on this hit event that has running for many years at Silver Springs. Lastly, thank you to all the families who attended our Fun Fair.
That’s a wrap for this year…the Fun Fair had rave reviews!

We Need You…PTA Executive Board Open Positions
It’s time to get our Executive Board nominated and elected for the 2018-2109 school year. Have you considered getting more involved in the PTA and want to help make a difference at Silver Springs? A position on the Silver Springs Executive Board may be the place for you. This is a great opportunity to learn about the PTA and have an active role in all the things the PTA does for Silver Springs. The positions of President and Secretary will be open for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Contact Leslie Cardenas with any questions or inquiries you may have at

Child ID Event at Silver Springs!
Skatin Station Family Skating Party
Make sure to mark your calendar for Monday, April 9th at 6:30 PM for our LAST family skating party of the year. This is a BIG one! We hope to get as many students with their family and Silver Springs staff to come skate and have some fun together. Silver Springs PTA will receive $4 per skater. Let’s see how many skaters we can get.
Hope to see lots of skaters for some fun!
After-School Activities Student Pick-Up
We keep the main doors locked for safety. Kids Club families have key fobs so that they are able to come in and sign their student out of the program. Please don't follow someone into the building. Thank you for your understanding in putting student safety first and we appreciate your effort to follow these rules.
Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!
Habit 5– Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
What this means: Listen before you talk. In order to communicate effectively, we must first understand each other.
“I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings.”
“I try to see things from their viewpoints.”
“I listen to others without interrupting.”
“I am confident in voicing my ideas.”
“I look people in the eyes when talking.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Listen.
2. Put yourself in the other person’s place.
3. Notice a person’s body language, tone, and reflection in their voice.
