Thumbprint Project 5x7 Prints
Would you like a copy of the Class Thumbprint Project for your child's class? This is your opportunity to purchase a print of that project! Ms. Meiners took photographs of each class project. You can order a 5x7 color print for only $5.00! These projects include the thumbprint and name of each child in the class in October 2018.
Please return the bottom portion of the attached form by THURSDAY, MAY 9TH. We will accept cash, checks, or money orders (made payable to “Liberty Elementary PTA”). Please fill out separate forms for multiple students. You may combine payment/orders into one envelope.
You can also order the prints through our online store.
Bottle Caps
A HUGE thank you to Anthony Lewis, owner of Touche Salon for a very generous donation that was applied towards the Enterprise truck rental to deliver the caps to Indiana!
And a HUGE thank you to Mr. Moore (Mrs. Niemi-Moore's husband) for driving the caps to and the benches back from Indiana!
Liberty School Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council: Parent Representative Elections
We hope you’ll consider running for our school council, or encourage a friend to do so. An informational letter and nomination form were sent home this week to all students in K-4th grade (forms are also attached) and mailed to students who will be in Kindergarten next year.
In Kentucky, each school has a council composed of the principal, elected teachers, and elected parents who make important decisions that impact student achievement in our school (for example curriculum, assessment, teacher selection, budget and staffing). The council is a wonderful chance to learn about our school, work closely with teachers, and help make our school even more successful than it is now. The parent members of the council are elected by parents. They receive training and will serve from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Please see the attachments for the nomination form and other information.
Nominations are due to the SCHOOL OFFICE or emailed to christina.krantz@gmail.com no later than 3:30 PM on May 10, 2019. If you know someone who would be a good candidate, please encourage that person to run.
The election will be held on May 28, 2019. Parents can vote in the SCHOOL LOBBY during these times:
- Drop off: 7:15-8:15 am
- Lunch: 10:30 am -12:30 pm
- Dismissal/BTB: 2:30-6:00 pm
If you will have a child enrolled at Liberty Elementary School NEXT YEAR, you are eligible to vote in this election. (This includes parents, step-parents, and foster parents. Legal guardians are also eligible to vote if the child lives in their home.) We urge every parent to participate in this important decision about the future of our children’s school.

Lunch Reminder
Please remember, if you are joining your student for lunch:
NO outside food is permitted.
"If it has a logo, it's a no-go." If it was prepared/bought from somewhere other than home, we ask that you refrain from bringing it to lunch with your student. There is a federal non-compete law that prohibits bringing in outside food to a school cafeteria.
If you are bringing food to eat with your student, please, bring a sack lunch or plan on purchasing a lunch at school.
