CHS & Class Act Board Report
September 2020
Beginning of the School Year
I think it's impressive when you consider the 3 types of scenarios our district has faced in the last 7 months. We went from all in-person to virtual in a matter of days in March. We raised the bar even higher by putting in place a "live" classroom that can be attended virtually by the beginning of the school year. This is quite the feat in the short amount of time we had to prepare for this new "normal". The staff has been exactly what we expected, flexible and patient. None of this would be possible without the help of all of us and truly is a reminder of what can be done if we choose to work as a team.

Matt Brenholt from the United States Forest Service trained several new sawyers recently by felling pine trees near Tracy Lake pavilion. Clearing these trees makes room for a solar power system, reduces possible damage to the pavilion, and allows the Town of Eisenstein a larger area to push snow. GetActive included clearing brush and using hand saws to cut firewood for the indoor classroom.
During our scientific collection observation exercise, a student found one of the oldest pines on the property. He tried to get his arms around it but was about 14 inches too short.
