27J Schools Celebrate National School Lunch Week

To recognize the National School Lunch Program, serving nearly 30 million children each day, 27J Schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 12-15, 2021. The fun and creative campaign theme, “WILD About School Lunch” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom. Recent research shows children are getting their healthiest meals at school. National School Lunch Week will highlight the nutritious foods available daily at our district schools. “School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories and sodium,” said Tony Jorstad, 27J Schools Nutrition Services Director. “Thanks to pandemic waivers, school meals are free for all students this school year, so it’s a great time to give school lunch a try. National School Lunch Week helps us educate parents and students about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program.” Join us for lunch October 12th-15th!

We have a very large amount of students tardy each morning. Please try to leave just 5 min earlier to have them here on time. The tardy bell rings at 7:50 am.

Are you running a little late or did you have an appointment?

If you are running a little late or had an appointment and your student will be coming to school after the 7:50 am tardy bell rings, you will need to walk in with your student and sign them in on the clipboard in the vestibule area. Thank you.

To Check Your Child Out Early

If you need to check your child out early please come inside the front doors of the building and push the doorbell to speak with our office staff. The office staff will then call your student down to you. We ask that you please wait in the vestibule for your student and sign them out on the clipboard on the table. Unfortunately we can not call students down until you are there to sign them out. Thank you!

PLEASE send a mask to school with your student each day and an extra in their backpack.

All students PK-5 will be required to wear a mask unless a medical exemption has been turned in. You can view the Public Health Order here and if you need a mask exemption form you can print it out here.

Student Fees

Student Fees can be paid online here or by check/cash in the office.

Kindergarten Supply Fees can not be paid online. Please give this payment to your child's teacher or the office.

Parent Visitors

Visitors need to wear a mask while on school property. We would absolutely love for parents to volunteer, however, ask that all sessions are pre-planned with your child’s teacher and scheduled, so that we can minimize the amount of outside adults in classrooms.

At this time, we can not accommodate parents coming in and eating lunch in our cafeteria. Parents are certainly welcome to continue to bring in lunch and drop it with our office staff and we will see to it that your child receives it on their way to their lunch. For specific lunch times, see your child’s teacher’s Back to School Information document.

Watch Dog Volunteers Needed

Brantner is a wonderfully unique school, where we partner with family members to help keep the inside and outside of our building safe. We have a resident Watch Dog, Roger Lance, a grandparent of a Brantner student, who helps oversee this program.

To volunteer for this, simply call the office and share your availability! We will provide you with a vest and radio.

Time Commitments-

Any time frame before, during, or after school.

Any time length that works for your schedule.

We would love to have you!

Birthday Treats

All treats need to be store bought and individually wrapped-no homemade treats will be allowed to be passed out. Please arrange bringing birthday treats in with your students teacher.
