GIRLS ON THE RUN
This spring, Powell Elementary will again be a site for Girls on the Run (GOTR). GOTR will be open to girls in 3rd and 4th grade.
GOTR is a 10-week program where girls develop essential skills to help them establish lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. It is a program that inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind! During the program, we also focus on the importance of teamwork, healthy relationships, and the role they can play in positively affecting and shaping our world. The girls will influence their community through a service project and physically and emotionally prepare for a celebratory 5K event!
The spring season begins the week of February 3rd. We meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00. Mrs. Owens will be talking to the 3rd and 4th grade girls about GOTR in PE class next week. If you are interested, please go to www.gotrgreaterhouston.org to get more information and register your daughter for the spring. We are looking forward to a great season! If you have any questions, feel free to email Pam Owens at powens@conroeisd.net.
