2018-2019 Texas Academic Performance Report

Powell's 2018-2019 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) has been posted on the school's profile page. The accountability reports can be accessed using the following link.

This spring, Powell Elementary will again be a site for Girls on the Run (GOTR). GOTR will be open to girls in 3rd and 4th grade.

GOTR is a 10-week program where girls develop essential skills to help them establish lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. It is a program that inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind! During the program, we also focus on the importance of teamwork, healthy relationships, and the role they can play in positively affecting and shaping our world. The girls will influence their community through a service project and physically and emotionally prepare for a celebratory 5K event!

The spring season begins the week of February 3rd. We meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00. Mrs. Owens will be talking to the 3rd and 4th grade girls about GOTR in PE class next week. If you are interested, please go to www.gotrgreaterhouston.org to get more information and register your daughter for the spring. We are looking forward to a great season! If you have any questions, feel free to email Pam Owens at powens@conroeisd.net.

Powell Carnival Sponsorship Opportunity

Powell Elementary PTO is seeking families and businesses to sponsor games and booths at the annual Spring Carnival. With a student population of 800+, this popular event is a great marketing opportunity for businesses and a wonderful way to support your local school! In recognition of your sponsorship, a sign listing your family or business name will be placed next to the booth. Sponsorships of $100 or more will also receive name recognition on the PTO banner hung in front of carline. Show your Powell Pride and become a sponsor today!

*Carnival sponsorships help support technology upgrades, admission for every student to attend school field trips, and playground enhancements. The PTO will provide sponsors with a donation tax receipt. If you would like to sponsor a game or booth, please return the completed form with payment to Powell Elementary PTO by Friday, January 31st.
