Welcome back for another school year at Carew Peel Forest School. This will be a short newsletter HOWEVER it has some important information!

We welcome back our established and new families to our school and look forward to making 2023 as best as we can. We have 7 new students arriving to us. A big welcome to Aaliyah, Theo, Arkie, Gethin, Ryder, Austin, Brylee and their families to Carew Peel Forest. We welcome Layla who is driving our Minty bus.

Reminders:

Please ensure your child has a hats, they bring their togs, and they have enough food!

Bus:

Please remember to let us know if children are not on the buses. Text or call the office.

We are always ready to help, so if you have any questions please come and see us!

We have a meet the teacher day planned for the 10th of February. The goal for the day is for our staff to have a quick sit down chat with individual students and their parents. The chat is designed for our families and students to share about themselves, find out a bit about the year, and help set up a positive year of learning.

The following are some questions that may guide you.

Or, please click on the Class Dojo image below and follow the instructions to access Class Dojo. You will receive updates from your child and what they are learning in class. The reason for changing programmes was that Seesaw was simply costing too much.

Class Dojo, Facebook, and our School App will be our primary sources for information.

We are moving with the times and now have a school app! It is the best way to communicate. Please download it as we will be using it a lot! You can use it to receive messages and lets us know about absences.

We have had the team from Hadlee and Brunton here over the last few weeks updating our water system. A new water tank, pump for the bore, water piping, and soak pits are being installed. This is exciting work as it means our water will not run out during high use times such as after lunch when we all go to the bathroom and have a drink!

We had a little powhiri to welcome our newest members of staff. We will hold a proper one when our singing improves!

We are looking for a couple more people so the Adult Ski School can go ahead, so if you or a friend or a family member are interested in adult ski school (any skiing level accepted) please email Clearwater Aquatic Club (address below) with your name and phone number ASAP and someone will be in touch.
