DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP
CANTON ISD
What's up this month? (MAY)
This month students in CISD will be learning about Tech Laws.
The goal is for the students to review age restrictions, plagiarism, cyberbullying, online impersonation, and texting and driving.
Over the course of the school year, our students will learn what it means to be a good digital citizen, how to create a positive digital footprint, and stay safe in the online world through eight online modules. Each module consists of a 5-10 minute video, knowledge checks and a pass/fail quiz at the end and should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.
- Cyberbullying (October)
- Digital Citizenship (November)
- Digital Footprint (December)
- Digital World Basics (January)
- Media Literacy (February)
- Privacy & Cyber Awareness (March)
- Age Appropriateness (April)
- Tech Laws (May)
Here is a module for parents: “Continue the Conversation." This is an important resource for you to further the discussion with your child about being a good digital citizen. The topics your child will cover this year include digital citizenship, cyberbullying, digital footprint, social media and digital world basics, media literacy, privacy, and tech laws/age appropriateness. The Continue the Conversation module will correspond with each of these topics.
