50 x 50

The time period for the 50 x 50 is quickly approaching. Time to amp up recruitment and reach a goal of 50 members! Congratulations to the following schools that have already achieved the 50 x 50: Sunman Dearborn Middle School, East Central, Gibson Southern, and West Vigo

Affiliation Deadlines

November 1: To maintain access to the FCCLA portal, you have to have 12 students affiliated by November 1. If you don't, access will be closed until you affiliate (this is a national policy)


February 1: Indiana's deadline for affiliation for competitive events is February 1st. You may see other dates listed but this is the date we utilize for Indiana's purposes.

Middle School Fall Rally

Indiana FCCLA can't wait to see all the students tomorrow at the Fall Rally. We are so excited about the partnership with the American Dairy Association and the Colts and will keep you posted on the outcomes.

Be a Teacher Day

We are asking all schools attending Be a Teacher Day to please bring donations for Teacher's Treasures:

-Kleenex

-Hand Sanitizer

-Clorox or other wipes


Teacher's Treasures is in desperate need of these items and they are especially important with the upcoming flu season.

Culinary Network Meeting

Join Culinary teachers and learn more about ProStart, pathways, and new classroom ideas for teaching culinary.


The Culinary Network Meeting will be November 19, 2019 in Hancock County Indiana


Join other culinary teachers to learn about the following:

  • Tour Tyner Pond Farm and eat at one of the farm to table restaurants
  • Learn about new ideas for culinary education
  • Explore the Certification's that ProStart offers and learn more about achieving those
  • Network with other Culinary teachers

Earn Cash For Your FACTS Project as Your State's Winning Project


FCCLA is partnering with Ford Driving Skills for Life and Governors Highway Safety Association to award the top FACTS project in each state a $500 cash award. Simply conduct a FACTS project during the school year and submit a program award application by March 1, 2020. You will automatically be entered to win! All state-level winners receive $500 and are considered for a national award!

When you summarize your project, including major activities, resources used, partnerships and collaborations--be sure to indicate that you utilized Ford Driving Skills for Life's The Academy program to assist with your FACTS project and describe any impact the resources had on your project! This total section on the evaluation is worth 20 points!

Next Generation Hoosier Scholar

Please share with students in your education and early childhood education pathways. Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2019.

Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is accepting applications for the fourth cohort of the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship<https://www.in.gov/che/4680.htm>. The scholarship provides 200 students up to $7,500 per year (renewable up to four years) in exchange for agreeing to teach in Indiana for five consecutive years. Students interested in applying must:
* Be in the top 20 percent of their class, or have a top 20 percent ACT/SAT score
* Have teacher, counselor, or administrator complete a nomination form<https://www.in.gov/che/files/56134%20fill-in.pdf>

Earn Funds while Ending Tobacco Use

Earn $100 for Taking Down Tobacco

Sick of seeing JUULs in your school? Get your members involved in the Taking Down Tobacco initiative from the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. This organization offers free lessons and resources to help students understand the deadly effects of tobacco use and how they can use their voices to #BeTheFirst tobacco-free generation.


The first 25 advisers or chapters to lead a Taking Down Tobacco 101 training in their classroom, school, or community, will earn $100. Chapters that train 75 youth or more will also be entered to win one of three $1,000 prizes.
