Stage 3
Welcome to the Leeds SCITT Newsletter
Welcome to this week's SCITT Newsletter. Thank you for letting us know what you would like to appear in your Newsletter. In this issue we are focusing on your Level 7 assignment and ensuring you are using SchooliP effectively. We also have a reminder of your experiences from your Immersion Week in February. There is also a section to update you of what's coming up in the weeks ahead. In the next Newsletter, there will be opportunity to celebrate 'Trainee of the Week' and to share your school placement stories. We hope you enjoy.....
Frequently asked questions?
There is a huge variation between how much evidence trainees are uploading. If you have more than 50-60 pieces of evidence you probably have too much. Remember on SchooliP, the only evidence that you should be uploading in the evidence section, is the evidence as outlined in your Stage 2/3 Handbook. The evidence section is not your teaching file, it is your evidence portfolio platform only. Things to think about:
- have you scanned work so it is all in one file?
- when you have uploaded your lesson observations, have you additionally uploaded the lesson plans and resources? - Remember you do not need to do this.
When I generate a lesson observation form in SchooliP, my mentor can not type into it, please help.
When you create an observation in your work area, make sure that the box 'create an observation for each observer' is not ticked, see below; as your mentor will not be able to edit it.
I am not confident in how to use SchooliP, what should I do?
- Ask one of the other trainees to give you a hand, it might help if you looked at their work on SchooliP.
- Read the newly written SchooliP instructions, they are attached below.
- Contact Fiona, Sinead or Julie to ask for further support with SchooliP.

Here is a link for a Word document for the formal lesson observation. If host teachers want to type straight onto this version, this can be scanned and uploaded onto SchooliP.

It would be good to read over other trainee's Level 7 work. An ideal time for this would be on the 29th March, when you are back at your Lead School. Remember the academic learning hub is available to support you, with your academic writing. Please use them, they are a great support!
What is coming up?
Friday 29th March All trainees attend their Lead School on this day. The focus for this day is assessment in your subject area.
Enrichment period.
You will be starting to think about what you would like to do in the Enrichment Period. Please discuss your ideas with you Mentor, ITTC and Lead Tutor. The Enrichment Form with information is attached. Please send it back to Sinead / Julie by the 17th May. If you would like to spend some or all of this period in the Shanidar Teaching School Alliance, please email Sinead / Julie ASAP.
