DNA & RNA
What are these things?
DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) & RNA(ribonucleic acid)
DNA is the fundamental characteristics or qualities of someone or something. RNA is a messenger that carries instructions from DNA for controlling proteins.
Where is DNA located?
DNA is located on the nucleus of eukaryotic cells.
What is DNA made of?
DNA is made of chemical blocks called nucleotides, which contain three parts. Hear three parts are: a phosphate group, a sugar group and one of four types of nitrogen bases.
What is he structure of DNA?
DNA is a structure containing two strands running opposite directions. Each strand has a backbone made up of sugar molecules linked together by phosphate groups.
DNA passes characteristics from parent to offspring this is heredity. DNA replicates when the double helix is unwound and each strand acts as a template for the next strand. During the process of transcription, the information stored in a gene’s DNA is transferred to a similar molecule called RNA (ribonucleic acid) in the cell nucleus.
