Thank You LMS PTO & Parents!

The LMS staff would like to the thank the PTO and parents for providing wonderful snacks and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week! The staff was especially thankful for the wonderful luncheon provided at the end of the week. We appreciate all the time and effort put into making it a great week for our staff!

Patriot's Pen Essay Winners

Several students at Legg Middle School entered the Patriot’s Pen Essay Competition sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars this year. The essay consisted of 300-400 words developing the theme of “The America I Believe In”. Each essay was composed solely by the student combining his/her knowledge and beliefs on the topic. The entries were combined with entries from all over the area in the competition. LMS is excited to announce that Ben Harris, Shay Mains, and Tate Hostetler received a monetary award for their essays! Tate, Shay, and Ben were chosen from these entries for a monetary award for their excellent essays. We are so proud of these students and wish them our congratulations!

LMS Choir Competes at State Festival

On April 26th, 2017 the LMS 6th and 7th grade choirs participated in the MSVMA's State Choral Festival. The choirs traveled to Holt, Michigan to perform two choral music selections for distinguished judges and work with a choral clinician to enhance their performances. Both of the choirs represented Legg Middle School with great professionalism and skill, and it was a very positive and fun experience for all involved. The choirs were accompanied on the piano by Justine Hostetler and are under the direction of Caitlin McDougall. The Coldwater choir department would like to thank the effort of the parents, teachers, administrators, and the transportation department for their support in making this trip to compete possible. Our choir program continues to grow stronger every year because of the hard work of our students and the support of our community. Keep up the excellent work, singers. Congratulations!

Legg Middle School Receives Energy Kit Donation

Thanks to a recent donation from the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities, Legg Middle School 8th graders will now have hands on lab experience to enrich their learning regarding renewable energy sources. The CBPU purchased the renewable energy kits using educational funds available through it’s Energy Optimization Program.

“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation! Bob Granger really made this happen for us. We appreciate his collaboration with our science teachers to help choose the kits and arrange for them to be shipped directly to LMS,” said Amy Van Zee, 8th grade science teacher at Legg Middle School.
