RCC Survey

Students, you received an email from Mr. Ferguson on Friday, entitled "Welcome to Randolph Community College Via RECHS." There is a survey link in the email. Please complete this as soon as possible.

Safety and Health Procedures

Students, please be mindful of your actions during school. Remain 6 feet from one another when possible. Also, please do not share food or drinks. Do not use water fountains. Please remain diligent regarding our Covid-19 procedures, so we all can remain safe and healthy.

Parents and College Grades

Parents, we invite you to reach out to Mr. Ferguson, our RCC Liaison, at any time with questions or concerns about your child's academic performance in a college class. Please remember, our high school students are treated as college students regarding their RCC courses; therefore, college instructors will only speak directly to the student. Additionally, Mr. Ferguson addresses any alerts/concerns he receives from instructors with our students. We encourage you to have conversations with your student and have them show you their Moodle for their college courses, and their Canvas and PowerSchool for their high school courses. You can access Parent Portal for PowerSchool and you can become an observer in Canvas as well.

Parent Observers in Canvas

All students are using the online learning management platform, Canvas, for their high school classes. All of our high school teachers are using Canvas for their classes. Parents are able to join the class as an observer and see their child (and only their child's) academic performance. If you would like to join your child's class as an observer, please email your child's teacher. If you are unsure who to email, you are welcome to email me, (Shea Grosch sgrosch@randolph.k12.nc.us) and I will forward your email to the correct teachers.

For Seniors

Effective in the 2020-2021 school year, two doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine are

required for North Carolina students. One dose is required for individuals entering

the seventh grade or by 12 years of age. The second booster dose is required for

individuals entering the 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes first.

The requirement for the second dose is new this year. Please turn in your shot record to the school office as soon as possible. The deadline was September 3, 2020. Please turn this in if you have not done so! If you have questions regarding this new requirement, please feel free to call our school nurse, Monica Hurley, at 336-625-1137.

Attendance

Students and parents, please remember we are taking attendance each day. Even all remote students, need to check-in with their teachers and complete their work daily. Students who are only in college courses, still need to complete attendance with Ms. Blackmon each day. It is imperative that every single student communicate with their high school teachers each day.

Lunch Options

Students are able to bring their own lunch, order from Randolph County School System or order from RCC's Armadillo Cafe. If a student orders from RCSS Child Nutrition, the food is prepared at Southmont Elementary and delivered to RECHS. Once a student submits their order to Southmont Elementary, the school cafeteria will prepare the order for that student. Students need to commit to that order, and pick up their food once it is ordered. The online ordering forms are below.
