December Athletes of the Month

Tre' Bell (Basketball) Tre is a Sophomore point guard for our team and has filled that role nicely for us. He scored in double figures for each of the 3 games in the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament (17, 12, 12) He leads our team in points scored at 11.0 ppg.

Tia Reed (Basketball) Tia has been a silent leader for the entire month of December. Not only does she lead by example, she encourages her teammates to do their best. Tia never complains and works extremely hard. In the Summit Tournament, she was named to the All-Tournament Team. In the past four games, Tia has led our team by scoring 42 points (combined).

December Sportsmanship Athletes of the Month

Sydney Slaven (Basketball) Sydney Slaven works had daily in practice. Her passion for the game is evident in every practice and game she plays. Sydney never complains and is a silent leader on our team. She may not score tons of points, but her energy and effort on the boards and the defensive end make our team better. Off the court, Sydney includes all and leads by example for our younger players (even though is she only a sophomore).

Arion Ivy (Wrestling) Arion Ivy is a big part of our wrestling program here at West. Arion has had 2nd and 3rd place finishes in our tournaments and has a 13-5 record this season. Not only does he have success on the mat, but in our practice room and between/after matches as well. He is someone that always has something positive to say. He is always cheering on his teammates as they are wrestling, and is there for them whether they win or lose. He is also one of our captains this year.
