Hello Senior Wildcats and Families,
I met with the seniors on Tuesday and am very excited as we count down the final month of these students time at Mesquite High.
Included in this you will find the timeline for all of the festivities between now and the end of the year. Along, with a few reminders about behavior and expectations. Senioritis is REAL and we want to be sure each and every one of our seniors get to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Please keep up with the weekly Wildcat Press as this will only the only special edition.

Baccalaureate
Students please arrive at 12:30 to the practice gym.
**At that point you will be allowed to list 2 people who will be admitted to the ceremony**
Make sure to wear your cap, gown and tassel
We will live stream the ceremony.

Graduation
If you are not at rehearsal, you may not participate in the ceremony.
Therefore please make arrangements to be in attendance. You will be receiving (6) wristbands at the end of practice, if you do not attend practice, you will not receive wristbands. Only guests with wristbands will be admitted to the evening ceremony.
- If there is a conflict you must get prior approval from Mrs. Escobar, Assistant Principal.
- The seating assignment is by row number and line leaders, the information will be posted in the library windows the week of May 24th.
- Graduation will be live streamed
- If you choose not to march at Graduation, Please notify Mrs. Nettgen(located next to Mrs. Escobars Office) as soon as possible. You can make arrangements to pick up your diploma starting on May 28, by calling Mrs. Nettgen at (480) 632 -4750 Ext 1135

Dress Code
Appropriate Dress for Seniors:
The following dress code/rules will apply to both Baccalaureate and Graduation:
1. Students should arrive at the venue by the designated time CARRYING their gown. Students should not put their gown on until AFTER they have checked in with their line leaders. Students will not be allowed to carry any “contraband” with them onto the football field
2. BOYS should wear dress slacks, a collared shirt (tie not required but recommended), dress shoes, and socks. No tennis shoes or shorts will be allowed.
GIRLS should wear dresses (or blouse and skirt) and dress shoes (hose optional). No tennis shoes or shorts will be allowed.
3. Mortarboards should not be altered in any way nor should anything (other than the appropriate tassel) be attached to or written on it.
4. Any student who appears to be under the influence of a controlled substance will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
5. Students will not be allowed to carry any items onto the football field and there is no place
to store items, so leave purses, cameras, cell phones, keys and other personal items with your
parents / family / friends.
Cap and Gown
If you haven't ordered your cap and gown yet, Jostens will be here in person one more time!
- Thursday, April 29, 2021 during lunches (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
- MHS Auditorium Lobby
- The cost for the cap and gown (including tassel and medallion) is $50. Cash is preferred, but a credit/debit card may be used as well
After this date you will need to go to Jostens in person:

Graduation Pictures
A professional photographer from GradImages will be at the graduation ceremony to take a candid photograph of each graduating senior at the time the diploma is presented. A free proof of this photo will be e-mailed to you or your graduate within 5 to 7 days following the ceremony.You may place orders or obtain answers to questions at www.gradimages.com or 1-800-261-2576. No one other than school approved professional photographers will be allowed on the field to take photographs.

Also, refrain from inappropriate behavior – any suspension may result in you not being able to participate in Baccalaureate and Graduation.

Special Circumstances
- If you are failing a class, speak to your teacher & go see your counselor. ASAP
- Asynchronous Online courses final grades must be finished, and posted by May 7.
- The top 10% are entitled to wear an honor cord, if you choose to do so, you can purchase them in the bookstore for $12, starting next week.
