Sumatran Team Update

Fall Semester Exams

It is so hard to believe that the semester is almost over! The students have been amazing and we have truly enjoyed watching them grow over these last months.

Exams will start on Tuesday December 16th and run through Friday December 19th. Please note that Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are half days. School buses will NOT run early, but will run on a normal schedule. Students may leave at 12:10 p.m. each of those days as long as they have a plan on how to get home. The front office does not need a note regarding transportation. Any student remaining after 1:00 p.m., however, will need to be signed out from the front office.

Finals cannot be taken before Tuesday, December 16th. Finals that are missed and not made up before Friday, December 19th will need to be taken on Monday January 4th.

Here is the Fall Semester Exam Schedule:

12/16 1st period exam ~ 9:00 am - 10:30 am / full day with modified bell schedule

12/17 2nd and 3rd period exams ~9:00 am -12:10 pm

12/18 4th and 5th period exams ~ 9:00 am -12:10 pm

12/19 6th and 7th period exams ~ 9:00 am -12:10 pm

NOTE: Final exam reviews will be posted to class webpages no later than December 10th.

School Dance!

DSMS 8th graders will be hosting a school dance this Friday, December 5th. The 6th grade dance is from 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 if bought early, or $7.00 at the door. There will be concessions offered. Parents are to pick students up at the FRONT of the school once the dance is over. Dress code applies. This is a big fundraiser for 8th grade students, so it would be awesome if our fabulous 6th graders could support them by attending. It's also loads of FUN!!!

Grades and retakes

The end of the third 6 week grading period is quickly approaching. Please be sure to check your child's Skyward grade book. If your child needs to retake any tests/quizzes, please make sure they come to tutorials as soon as possible. Thank you!

Donations for our FABULOUS Custodians

Parents: The 7th grade class is going to collect money to give a gift card to each custodian on our campus, and 6th grade would like to participate. Every day the custodians clean hall ways, classrooms and oopsies that our students and faculty make. We want to give back to them for their hard work. We are asking for a $1 donation or more from each student in our advisories to do so. Please consider the kind jester, the custodians very rarely ever get recognized and they work extremely hard. Your consideration is appreciated!

Students are running low on basic school supplies. Please make sure to stock up on pencils and notebook paper. Thank you!!
