Washington Spring Conferences will be held online, your students Foundations/Advisory Teacher will set up an appointment with you on one of the following dates.

Athletics Updates
Turning the page on the calendar to February means it is time to think about spring sports. WTM spring sports registration for High School opens Tuesday, February 1st; high school registration is done online. Students must have an up-to-date physical on file (good for 3 years) and complete the MSHSL Eligibility form. Middle School (grades 6-8) sports info will go out in the March Newsletter. Please note that 7th and 8th grade students are welcome to try out for high school sports. Spring sports at Washington include Girls' Badminton, Baseball, Softball, Boys' Tennis, and Track & Field. Please consider coming to cheer on your Boys/Girls' Basketball, Boys' Swim & Dive, and Wrestling teams at a Washington game/meet. ACT for Grade 11 Students
For parents/guardians of 11th graders:
Student sign-up for the March 8th ACT exam at Washington open on February 3rd and closes two weeks later on February 17th! The ACT can be used (and in some cases required) for college applications and scholarships.

ACCESS Testing
ELL supported students will be taking the ACCESS for ELLs assessments in February and March. The ACCESS is a suite of English language proficiency assessments for students who have been identified as English language learners. The assessments cover four language areas: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Right Track Summer Jobs for Students Ages 14-21
Do you have a student who is looking for a summer job? Right Track St. Paul is hiring! Students will develop their employment skills, build their network, and earn money.
To be eligible for a Right Track job, students must:
-Saint Paul youth ages 14-21 can apply
-Meet income criteria OR have a barrier to employment

What's happening at the Rice Street Library?
· Homework Center (M/T/W) 4-7pm: Students have the opportunity to work 1-on-1 with tutors on their homework. Tutors can help with homework from elementary to college.
· FunLab (T/Th) 3:30-5pm: STEAM drop-in program for ages 7-11 years old. Kids have access to VR, video games, arts and crafts, and more!
· Createch (T/W/Th/F) 5:30-7:45pm: Teen drop-in hang out space. Lots of tech (VR, video games, iPads), art and crafts supplies for teens to geek out with! For ages 12-18.
· Family Storytime e/o Saturday 12:30-1pm (upcoming storytime 2/5): Stories, songs, rhymes, and more for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers. Older and younger siblings are welcome too!
· Passive enrichment activities Sun-Sat all day: self-guided arts activities for kids ages 2-11 in the Children's Area.
· Snack provided by SPPS: Free snack for youth 0-18 years old participating in programming
· Career Labs (M/Th) 1-3pm: 1-on-1 Resume and career help for adults looking for work or career changes. By appointment: Career Lab-RC
