Weekly Update
Flambeau Junior High
From the Principal's Office
As the first semester winds down, I find myself reflecting on all that we've accomplished here at Flambeau in the first half of the year. I also consider all that must yet be done! To make sure we get a positive start to the second half of the year, we'll be having a gathering the big gym for all students on Thursday, January 15. The purpose of this gathering will be to celebrate our accomplishments during 1st semester, and revisit our expectations on Falcon Cards, Advisory, and Flex Time. By reminding kids of what's expected of them, I know that we'll be setting ourselves up for success!
Weekly Attendance Update
One of our goals this year for the Junior High and High School is to increase our attendance. Each week, we’ll take a look at our attendance data. Remember, research has proven that regular attendance at school is directly related to achievement!

Recipe Recommendation: Copy-Cat Auntie Anne's Pretzel Bites
This week's recipe would be a great snack to serve at your Packer party!
1 1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
6 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp butter, melted
4 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp salt
1/3 cup baking soda
3 cups warm water
Coarse salt
8 tbsp butter, melted
Warm the milk in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes. If too hot, it will kill the yeast. You should be able to comfortably put your finger in it. Stir in the yeast and one tablespoon of the brown sugar. Let sit for about 10 minutes. Add the butter and remaining sugar. Add the flour about 1 cup at a time and add the 2 teaspoons of salt. Kneed for about 10 minutes with a stand mixer or by hand. Put it in a greased bowl and cover with greased cling wrap. Let rise for 1 hour in a moist, warm place until doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Punch down dough and divide into 12-14 lumps. Roll them out as thin as you can. Combine the warm water and baking soda in a large bowl. Cut the dough into 1 1/2" pieces, then dip in the baking soda water. Place on a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for about 6-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Dip each in the melted butter while hot.
