Esther Anderson, Teacher
Place of Birth: Santa Monica, CA
Years at Lincoln: 5
Favorite Educator: Growing up in Santa Monica schools two programs made the biggest impact on me: Spanish immersion and music. Going through the immersion program and having amazing teachers like Mr. Ramirez, who challenged me not only to grow in my writing in Spanish but to also evaluate history through different lenses taught me to value other cultures and celebrate our differences. Being a VAPA kid has also always been a haven for me. My music teachers from Mr. Boydβs fifth grade choir and all The Beach Boys and Mana songs to Ms. Blanchard, Ms. Woo, Ms. Swenson, and Mr. Huls in high school, all provided me with a meaningful outlet to ground myself through music. Practice rooms became my home away from home where I could throw myself into melodies and take a break from the demands of adolescence. Having this outlet and the caring connection my musical directors made with me sustained me through loss and many challenges in my childhood. These teachers all made a huge impact on me as they took the time to form a connection and made me feel heard, valued and at home in their classrooms. As a teacher myself, I try to meet my students where they are at physically, emotionally and developmentally and hope to provide the connection, sense of belonging and the home at school my teachers provided me.
Fun Fact: I am fluent in German and Spanish and love to go camping and be out in nature. I am also a huge womenβs sports fan, especially soccer, and can be found at BMO during the Angel City season.
Monica Williams, Senior Office Specialist
Place of Birth: Texas
Years at Lincoln: 4
Favorite Educator: All of my high school teachers are my favorite. They either went to high school with my Mom or they taught her too.
Fun Fact: I used to train to drive race cars to get over a phobia I developed with driving due to a motor vehicle accident. It didn't work, but it was a fun experience.
