MRS. YVONNE ULLAS: Our 2nd-grade teacher Mrs. Yvonne Ullas has been an educator for 44 years. For 39 of those years, Mrs. Ullas worked as a certified teacher, but she actually began her career as a paraeducator in the Yakima School District in 1975. During her incredible career, Mrs. Ullas taught at St. Joseph's and in the Yakima and Naches school districts. However, Roosevelt has been Mrs. Ullas' "home" for 20 years. Mrs. Ullas expressed that her career "has offered me many opportunities, and I can honestly say that, in all 44 years, I have never stopped learning." On behalf of literally thousands of students and family members, we thank Mrs. Ullas for her decades of passion and service. Happy Retirement!
MRS. ROBERTA BOLSTAD: Our special education paraprofessional, Mrs. Roberta Bolstad, has been an educator for 29 years. She began working for the Yakima School District in 1990 as an occupational therapy assistant. For 2 years, she worked in occupational therapy at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, and then she returned to public education. From 2000-2010, Mrs. Bolstad worked at Gilbert Elementary School, both in the autism program and as a 1-on-1 para. Then, in 2011, Mrs. Bolstad joined the Roosevelt team, and she has supported students with disabilities in our special education classrooms for the past 10 years. On behalf of all of the students, teachers, and families that you have taught in special education, we thank Mrs. Bolstad for nearly 3 decades of support and dedication. Enjoy your retirement!
