BEMSP March 31, 2020 Expiration Dates Extended

The Bureau of EMS & Preparedness is extending expiration dates for those expiring March 31, 2020 to June 30, 2020. As we continue to monitor and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic we will be providing updated information as it becomes available.


No late fees will assessed.


Providers are encouraged to complete their applications as soon as they can.

NREMT March 31, 2020 Dates Extended

The NREMT is extending expiration dates for those expiring March 31, 2020 to June 30, 2020.


No late fees will assessed.

Fingerprinting

We are aware that many locations are not fingerprinting at this time. We are monitoring this situation and will keep you updated as we learn more.


The UDOH Highland Drive fingerprint location is closed.

NREMT Cognitive Testing

Pearson VUE closed all testing centers. NREMT is working on other options for testing, as well as working with Pearson VUE and exploring other options.

NREMT Psychomotor Exams

NREMT has suspended psychomotor exams.


NREMT will begin issuing provisional certifications to individuals who pass the cognitive exam and who have not passed or completed the psychomotor exam.


NREMT will resume psychomotor testing once the emergency resolved.


BEMSP will issue provisional licenses to those who complete the cognitive exam and who have not passed or completed the psychomotor exam if a background check has been completed.

NREMT Distributive Education

NREMT has waived the distributive education limits for the 2020 re-certification cycle. We encourage all providers to continue to complete their required hours online.

Poison Control Center - Fully Staffed

The Poison Control Center would like to thank all those providers who have volunteered to staff the call center. At this time, there are no needs for additional volunteers. Thank you.

EMS Instructor / Training Officer / Course Coordinator - Courses Cancelled

All EMS Instructor / Training Officer / Course Coordinator courses have been cancelled through June 30, 2020.


We will keep you updated on upcoming courses.

Interstate EMS Personnel Licensing Compact Declared Operational

At the regular meeting of the Interstate Commission for EMS Personnel Practice (EMS Compact Commission) on Tuesday March 10, 2020, the EMS Compact Commission approved use of the EMS Compact process effective Monday March 16, 2020 in response to personnel needs associated with COVID-19. This decision enables EMS personnel licensed in Compact member states (home states) to cross state borders using a privilege to practice and work in other Compact states (remote state) without getting an EMS license in the remote state.
