Homework

This week will be the usual homework with a math worksheet, spelling, and a special project that is explained on the website below.

This week's math's worksheet is from a new program that students have been using as an independent math group called Frontrow. From the information gathered while using the program, each child is generated an individualized worksheet according to the Common Core Standards in which they have shown mastery. Our second grade team is really excited to implement this useful tool in our math program.

Here is the homework page link http://sbsd.schoolwires.net/Page/1870

In your Friday Folder this week you will find a "Student Evaluation Chart" for the test that was taken in class last Friday for our Language Arts program. This sheets shows you which questions from Fridays assessments were correct. If you would like to look at the test in order to gather more information about the types of questions your child is answering correct or incorrect please click the link below to view the assessment.

Upcoming Events

Share the Music, Next Monday December 15th

"Share the Music & More" is a voluntary in-house (during regular music class) talent show. Students are encouraged to prepare and present their talent if they wish, bring their music and instrument (if that's their talent) or bring any props/costume they need to share their particular talent... Talent can be anything: art [something they have made], P.E. [demonstration], science [experiment], dance [expression with or without music], musical instrument [performance], singing [anything appropriate & can bring iPod/iPad/iPhone and hook up to my speakers], tae kwon do/karate, skit, [appropriate] joke telling, poetry [reading], demonstration of whatever their talent is, etc. This is a volunteer event; no one is required to get up and perform. We also learn how to be a respectful audience member. =
