How to Find Scholarships
You should plan to spend at least 2 hours a week (more for seniors) researching and applying to scholarships. Make a scholarship spreadsheet in google and keep up with ones you find. Create a column for name of scholarship, column for website, column for $, column for date you apply. Make sure you spend time reading through the requirements for the scholarship so you don't miss something, everyone has a different request. Never, ever pay for someone to find you a scholarship, they are just researching just like you.
Here are a few databases you can join that will update scholarships. Once you join make sure you learn how to navigate through the website. They all have tabs for scholarships that are specific to what you are looking for. JLV College Counseling - Scholarships and more; Unigo.com; Scholarship.com; Collegeboard.org - You can use the account you already have
You can also type in your Google Address window specific scholarships, for example, "Female high school senior scholarship".
There are a lot of quick scholarships - remember you are competing against close to a million other applicants. The less competitive are the essay ones - nobody wants to spend a lot of time on a scholarship.
