Weekly Update Ben Eielson Jr. Sr.
November 15th, 2020
Ben Eielson Families,
Good evening!
The learning model that Ben Eielson will be delivering instruction starting tomorrow Nov. 16th will be fully remote. The decision District Wide came last week and as of today will continue through November. We will not have any students in person at the school, this will impact the students who had been accessing the school in either the cafeteria and the library.
Classes will continue to be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays' between 9:15am - 1:30pm, as they have been this school year. Following each of those days teachers have Instructional Support time from 1:30pm - 2:45pm, please contact your teacher for assistance. Reminder that Wednesdays virtual classes are not 'held' although it is expected that work would be assigned, just the class meetings are not scheduled.
While instruction is fully remote, the support/school staff will also work remotely. We will have a reduced office staff in the building on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Please call the office and leave a message with either the front office or our administrative office if you have questions. 372-3110.
Nutrition Services will still provide at no cost meals for school aged students, which can be picked up Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm.
Wednesday November 18th, during the Instructional Support Day we will be available for material, books, Chromebook pick up between 8 am and 1pm, no sign up necessary.
This Wednesday the 18th on our condensed grading term will be the date for High School Deficiency Notices as well as capturing the grades for Junior High Core Classes that will represent what would be the '3rd Quarter' grade for JH Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.
We are finalizing the plans to recognize those Junior High Students on the Honor Roll for 'Quarters' 1 and 2. We are planning an evening program done virtually to recognize students and the certificates we would traditionally hand out will be sent as PDF's to families email addresses.
Please be safe and if you have questions please contact the school.
