Open House & Athletic Recruiting Seminar

On January 12th, LHS welcomed its "future freshmen" and their parents to an Open House. Our fabulous peer leaders led tours through the high school, showcasing all of the areas that contribute to day-to-day life as a Cardinal. The club and activity tables gave our visitors a sense of the fun ways they can get involved, and guests loved hearing first-hand from the students themselves!

After the Open House, Athletics presented an information session for those interested in playing sports in college. The seminar included guest speakers with many years of experience and multiple perspectives as college advisers, coaches, parents, and players.

Thank you to all who attended these events, and of course to the students, faculty, staff, and other volunteers who helped make them happen!

Your New LHS Idol Is...

Chloe won over the audience and judges at this year's LHS DECA Idol competition on January 14th with her jaw-dropping renditions of two Whitney Houston songs. Just a freshman, Chloe is sure to give contestants a tough run for their money for three more years!

NCAA Eligibility Center Updates

If a student takes the current SAT before March 2016 and then takes the redesigned SAT at a later date, the NCAA Eligibility Center will not combine section scores from the current and redesigned SAT when determining a student's initial eligibility. The Eligibility Center will only combine section scores from the same version of the test. Because the redesigned SAT varies in design and measures different academic concepts, a numerical score on the current test may not be equivalent to the same score on the redesigned test. Students should use recipient code 9999 when sending scores the Eligibility Center. Additional information can be found HERE.

College-bound student-athletes must meet a core-course progression requirement to be eligible to compete in the initial year of full-time enrollment at an NCAA Division I school. Those who do not meet this new requirement will not be able to compete in the first year of enrollment at an NCAA Division I school. Click HERE to view FAQs about these new rules.
