Halloween 2017
The season of fall holds many surprises and fun for all. Halloween is one of the things our children and students look forward to the most. Tuesday, the 31st of October will be a dress-up day at Stoller Middle School.
We love that our students want to celebrate Halloween. As a Stoller Community, it is important that our costumes reflect our interests but demonstrate respect to the diversity in our building.
While everyone is invited to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume, a few guidelines must be strictly followed.
Please make sure that students are still following the district dress code requirements. The only exceptions to the usual rules are that face paint and other small accessories will be allowed on this day.
All students participating must come to school dressed in their costumes – no getting ready in the building. Therefore, students should not bring makeup or hair products to school; these must be applied at home. In addition, please note:
● Masks may not cover the entire face. We have to be able to tell who is behind the mask.
● No props or large accessories; absolutely NO fake weapons of any kind.
● No suggestive violence. Avoid fake blood and gore.
● No latex balloons.
There will be a costume competition in the Cafeteria during lunch. The categories are most unique, best character, best homemade, best group, and most realistic. You must choose one category to enter. Prizes will be given to the winner(s).
Please remember that this is still a school day. Students are expected to fully participate in each class throughout the learning day. If a costume might distract or prevent a student from engaging in the learning process, it isn’t a good costume to wear to school. We are looking forward to everyone following the guidelines, coming up with creative costumes, and having fun!

CANVAS for Parents
Ask your child if any of their teachers use CANVAS to organize and communicate learning in the classroom. If so, you now have the ability to follow your son or daughter's courses on CANVAS for Parents. Please read over the instructions on how to set up your CANVAS account then visit this link to create a CANVAS account. If you have more than one child, there are additional instructions on how to add a student.
*If you have an existing account and are unable to see current courses or add additional students, please email: canvas@beaverton.k12.or.us
School Breakfast - Good for Kids and Good for Parents!
Last Reminder...
For parents with busy schedules, it can be hard to make sure that kids are eating a healthy breakfast before they go to school in the morning.
Sometimes children aren’t hungry right after waking up, and it’s hard to find food they like to eat that is also healthy. Also, some kids refuse breakfast at home but are hungry when they arrive at school. Fortunately, we have a great breakfast program for all students, and it’s available at school every day.
If morning meals are difficult for your family, let the School Breakfast Program help you out!
