From the Principal
Good Afternoon!
With today being the last full day of school, students were asked to clean out their lockers and bring all belongings home. We do have one more day of school; Monday is a half day. We are asking that students leave backpacks at home on Monday as they will not need them.
Just a reminder to all families that will have a child riding the bus to school next school year. You can save money on your bus fees by paying early. If this interests you, please mail in your payment or drop it off at school before July 1st. The school will be open next week.
Students report cards will be issued by hand the last day of school. Report cards will contain quarter 4/semester 2 grades as well as final grades for the 2021-2022 school year. If you child is absent, we will mail the report card to your address of record.
If you child is still in possession of a chromebook or charger please have them bring those items into school on Monday.
PSMS has garden boxes in the front of the school. With the help of Terra Cura, we have once again succesfully replanted those boxes and are looking for some help in maintaining them over the summer months. If you have a green thumb, or would like to help our, please click on the signup genius below to learn more about helping out and possible signing up for some time to help us maintain our garden boxes!

TECHNICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Grab your tissues, this story of empathy is truly one of the very best.
The Pilgrim Area Collaborative's transitional skills program has been right next door to Mrs. DeBellis' technology room at Plymouth South Middle School for some time now. Recently, students have noticed one of their PAC neighbors needing assistance to open a door down the hall each time they needed to use the restroom. Understanding that a life skill such as unlocking a door may not come easy to everyone, one eighth-grader had the idea to create an attachment for a key that would help the PAC student unlock the door, giving them a sense of independence. And just like that, an incredible project was born.
Each year, Mrs. DeBellis challenges her students to design a device to help others perform a task that may be difficult or painful with the Hope Project. Inspired by the key attachment, students took the project one step further and met with students of Pilgrim Area Collaborative to create devices for their classroom that would help foster growth and independence. After many designs, prototypes, tweaks, and redesigns, Mrs. DeBellis's students printed their completed devices with a 3D printer and gifted them to three PAC students earlier this week.
It was truly a heartwarming sight to see - PAC students were thrilled with their incredible gifts and PSMS students felt proud they were able to make an impact. A very, very big thank you to Mrs. Allison DeBellis for this amazing project, along with Pilgrim Area Collaborative's Ms. Tammy Hall and Ms. Paula Jean who were instrumental in making this project a reality.
