Roadrunner Fun Run Update

The Valentine Hills Roadrunner Fun Run will be taking the year off in 2019. We love this event and it will be planned for the 2019-2020 school year! Keep moving those bodies and spending time outdoors!

Walk for Water-Supporting H2O for Life

WALK FOR WATER

Around the world, millions of people lack access to clean water. In fact, every 2 minutes, a child dies from water related diseases. As a community, we want to help change this! Join the H20 for Life club at Mounds View High School in our Walk for Water on May 11 from 12-3 p.m. at the Mounds View High School Stadium! Bond with the community, win prizes, enjoy refreshments and music, and support a great cause. Our walk will increase awareness about the Global Water Crisis, and raise money to build a water well for 763 young school children in Uganda who currently have no access to clean water. To learn more, donate, or register for the walk, visit https://www.moundsviewdeca.org/walk-for-water. Let’s come together, have fun, and make a difference! See you there!

Looking for more information? Please come to an informational movie night about the Global Water Crisis in the Mounds View High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on May 7.

Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast & Honoring Dr Bob!

Have you volunteered at VH this year? Yes? Then we want to honor you at our Volunteer Breakfast on Wed, May 8 from 8:30-9 a.m. We will have juice, coffee and baked goods in the library. Please join us! (No need to RSVP.)

Dr. Bob has graciously volunteered his time on a daily basis for many years across a variety of classrooms at Valentine Hills. He has worked with students to support them in math; he has retaught skills as needed, practiced basic facts in ways that "stick", and provided feedback on their classroom work. If he has made an impact on the children in your family and you would like to acknowledge him with a card or small donation, Mrs. Erickson (4th grade) will be putting together a gift basket to give Dr. Bob at our volunteer appreciation breakfast.

Parent Help for Field Day

Our building wide Field Day will be Fri, May 31. We need a handful of parents to help out with water that day. You would be supervising the water station (for students who need a drink of water), helping them fill a cup or water bottle and keeping the water jugs full.

If you are interested, please email mailto:mary.lawrence@moundsviewschools.org.
