Junior School Update

Last week, team Totora and Miro went to Te Papa!

We learnt about Matariki and explored the different shadows that art can make. Here are some photos of our time at Te Papa.

Middle School Update

This week Room 10 went to Space Place!

We started the afternoon with a class discussion about space; looking at how large the planet would be compared to the sun.

We then ended the trip with a movie in the planetarium - it was great fun!

Senior School Update

In Year 5 and 6 we are working on a mission to Mars! NASA has asked us to investigate how we could survive on Mars, if Earth was not safe for us anymore. As a class we have brainstormed the pros and cons of living on Mars. One of the cons is that there are low levels of oxygen on Mars, so some of us are trying to solve that problem.

Below is a detailed drawing of Sanishka and Kareena’s oxygen machine. It is a machine which uses the oxygen generated by trees and pumps it into an enclosed house.

YELLOW LINES

Another reminder to not stop on the yellow lines outside both entrances to school when dropping off and picking up your child/ren. This is for the safety of themselves and others crossing the road.

Change of Clothes

We are after any spare/no longer loved clothes that could be donated to the school. We have run out of clothes (especally pants) in the office. If you have any lying around we would love if you could bring them into the office.

Also, if your child does come in home with clothing that is not theirs - it would be great if they could be washed and handed back to school as soon as possible.
