F.K. WHITE TELC INFORMATION FOR 4TH AND 5TH GRADE PARENTS
F. K. White is hosting a TELC Expo night that will be held on their campus, Friday, February 24th at 5:00 PM. The Expo night will highlight information about the opportunities that are available in the TELC program. All T.S. Cooley students are eligible to attend the TELC program for middle school if they meet admission deadlines and requirements.
The information being presented at the Expo night is intended for T.S. Cooley families of fifth grade students as they prepare to make their final decision about middle school enrollment. The invitation has been extended to our fourth grade families because many other schools in our area will require a commitment early in the 2023 - 2024 school year. All questions about the TELC program and enrollment options can be answered by attending the Expo night. Specific questions for the TELC program can be directed to jose.cobian@cpsb.org or rebekah.coleman@cpsb.org.

2ND GRADER TAKES TO THE SKIES IN BONANZA F35
Blaire P. recently had the opportunity to take a Young Eagles flight in a Bonanza F35 airplane. Young Eagles is a program to help inspire future aviators. Her brother was interested and because she was old enough she was offered a free ride as well. They rode out of Jennings, LA and flew for about 15 min. Pictured with Blaire is her mother, Stephanie Perkins.
If you would like to share extra curricular accomplishments, please send a jpg photo and a short paragraph explaining the photo with details about the activity, length of time they have been participating, type of honor they are receiving or other information to barbara.lawrence@cpsb.org
COOLEY STUDENTS SEND VALENTINES TO LOCAL NURSING HOME RESIDENTS
Dare Officer, Sgt. Brown (center) and fellow officers in the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Department's Elderly Services Division visited parish nursing homes and distributed Valentines made by lake area students. Students in Ms. Elizabeth Guinn's art classes and Madame Kayla Weber's French classes brightened the day of many of the elderly that Sgt. Brown visited. Not only was the art beautiful, but the cards were thoughtful and Madame's students wrote theirs in French. The photo was taken at Holly Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sulphur; just one of the stops these officers made on Valentine's Day delivering cards and spreading cheer.
