FCI is currently looking for PTO chairs and PTO board members for the 2019-2020 school year!
The PTO is a great way to get involved with your students school and meet other FCI families!
Please contact Nickie Caffee’ Robinson at nickie@nickiecmakeup.com or by phone at (502) 718-1726.
Fall Creek Junior High PTO
For those of you that are moving on to Fall Creek Junior High (FCJH) next year, the PTO is looking for some board members and committee chairs. Serving on the PTO, chairing a committee, and/or volunteering for PTO events is a great way to get to know the staff at FCJH. With seven periods in the day, and lots more staff members than FCI, being involved is a great way to make a bigger school seem small. If you'd like to attend a PTO meeting to get a feel for what goes on at the junior high, our remaining PTO meetings are listed below. Feel free to attend any or all remaining meeting(s). However, you do need to have a current background check on file with HSE Schools to attend.
The FCJH PTO meeting schedule for the remainder of this school year is:
- March 21st at 8:30am
- April 25th at 8:30am
- May 9th at 8:30am
*All meetings are on Thursdays and we meet in the Auditeria.
There are several vacancies on the FCJH PTO Board for the 2019-2020 school year. If you are interested in learning more about the PTO, serving on the PTO Board, or chairing a committee, please email Charron Wright at gcwright91@aol.com.
Lost & Found
ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS!
This past month, our band and orchestra directors have visited your student's general music class to demonstrate instruments. Regardless of what intermediate school your child will attend next year, they have the opportunity to participate in band and orchestra as a 6th Grade student. The attached permission form allows your student to come down and try on the different instruments. Many students have already completed this form, but if you have not and still would like to have this opportunity, please complete the attached permission slip and send it with your child tomorrow. Also, please mark your calendars for our Band and Orchestra Registration night on Wednesday 5/22/19 at 6:30pm in the FCI Gymnasium. Details on how to obtain an instrument and other pertinent information about the programs will be discussed at this time. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity!
ATTENTION ALL 5th GRADE STUDENTS & PARENTS!
The FCI 6th Grade Band and Orchestra Programs WANT YOU! You have an exciting opportunity to participate in band or orchestra next year at Fall Creek Intermediate. Participants will learn how to read music and how to play the instrument of their choice. Classes will meet everyday at FCI from 2:15-2:53 next year. All 5th graders will receive information about both programs in their general music classes in April when the directors will be visiting to talk about and demonstrate all of the instruments! Music teachers and Paige’s music personnel will be at FCI during the school day Monday May 6, 2019 to fit all interested students to an instrument. In order to attend a fitting session, students must return the permission form that will accompany their information packet.
Permission forms are due back to your homeroom teachers to give to directors by Friday 5/3/19. Extras will be passed out during general music on the day of the demonstrations. Demonstration dates will vary depending on your child’s team. By signing the permission form you are not committing to the program, but just allowing your student to come down and try on the instruments! You never know what hidden talent these young musicians possess!
A mandatory registration evening will be held on Wednesday 5/22/19 at 6:30pm to discuss important details about the FCI band and orchestra programs as well as information on obtaining an instrument for your student. This will be held in the FCI gym. IF YOUR STUDENT WILL BE ATTENDING A DIFFERENT INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL NEXT YEAR OTHER THAN FCI, YOU WILL STILL GO THROUGH THE FITTING PROCESS HERE AT FCI.
We hope to continue the tradition of excellence that these two programs have established. Grab your friends and don’t miss out on all of the fun! COME BE IN BAND OR ORCHESTRA!!

Students are allowed 8 unexcused absences per semester and/or 16 per year. Reminder that the 'excused' indicated in Skyward only means that the absence was called in. It is only considered excused, as Indiana Compulsory Attendance laws are concerned, when an official documentation from the appointment is turned in to the office.
Thank you for your assistance with the matter.

While you may also notify the teacher, if the teacher is not present at school and information is sent to him/her, the office will not be knowledgeable of the information.
IMPORTANT SAFETY ITEM REMINDERS

- Photo ID - Whether picking up or dropping off, please have photo ID such as your driver's license ready for identification purposes.

- Bus lot - Do not enter the bus lot prior to bus arrival or while buses are in the lot.
- Drop-off - Please make all attempts possible to have your child exit your vehicle on the side of the curb. Exit the opposite side and walking in between cars is not safe.
Activity dismissal
For school-wide events such as the Hang Out, Falcon Fest, all-school stay-after basketball games, the following pick-up procedures assist in safer, quicker dismissal:
- 5th grade parents to travel north on Olio Road into the front parking lot then south on Olio Road out of the parking lot. Pick-up is in FRONT of the building for 5th grade.
- 6th grade parents to travel south on Olio Road into the bus parking lot then north on Olio Road out of the parking lot. Pick-up is in the bus lot for 6th grade. This is north of the school on the side face HSE High School.
ABOVE ALL, we know your schedules are very busy as well. However, we ask that you NOT park in the parking lot and ask your child to walk across the lot. This is not safe as there are many vehicles in the lot. Please assist us in keep all of our children safe and remain in the pick up line. We will take all possible efforts to move the line quickly and safely. Thank you in advance!! :)
Safe Visitor Badges
Per HSE Policy, visitors must have their Safe Visitor Badge scanned to check-in to the building. Please download the SafeVisitor App (available for iPhones and in Google Play for all other phones) or have your badge available when you come into the school. Looking up names can lead to the wrong person being signed in.
Upon leaving, please give your printed badge to the office staff for quick check-out.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Vicki Foutty at 317-594-4100.
