Principally Speaking
Students participated in an assembly today presented the Dare to Dream Team. Students listened to stories and wisdom departed by Tom Gilles, a former professional snowboarder. He captivated our students with his exciting stories and challenged all of us to follow our dreams despite setbacks and what others might say. Please ask your students what they thought of today's message.
We are excited to host parent-teacher conferences on the evenings of Thursday, November 1 and Thursday, November 8 from 4:30 - 8 PM. You may sign up to meet with your choice of your student's teachers. We ask that you sign up to meet with just one teacher during the two-day conference window. Should you need to meet with multiple teachers, we are happy to oblige this request through an additional meeting time outside of the all-school conference days. Please contact the teacher(s) directly or seek help from the appropriate guidance counselor to set up an additional meeting or meetings. Again, we look forward to meeting with you to get to know your student better. Research shows that the more involved parents are in their student's education, the better the students perform. We hope to see each student represented by a parent or guardian during the conference evenings.
The important thing is that you sign up for one ten-minute time slot to meet with a teacher or teachers (depending on the grade level) to get a quick snapshot of your student's performance thus far. Should you need more than the allotted time for Parent-Teacher conferences, you will have the opportunity to request an additional appointment for another day.
Below are the most frequently asked questions regarding Parent-Teacher conferences.
Q & A
1. What if there are no time slots available to meet with any of my student's teachers?
Please call the teacher by contacting the school office at 317-745-5491 to let the teacher know that you wish to meet with him or her. The teacher will then accommodate you the best that he or she can by providing a before, during, or after school appointment on another day. As well, a telephone conference is also an option if that works for you.
2. Do I need to attend both evenings?
No, you only need to attend one time slot on one of the evenings. You may pick which night works best with your schedule.
3. How do I sign up?
Use this link: http://signup.com/go/VfuoecP or go to the school website and click on the signup.com icon.
Please enjoy your weekend!
