One Year Ago

This Monday, October 8 marks the anniversary of the fires. The one year anniversary of the fires have come. This time last year all planned activities stopped, and life's most important things were put clearly into perspective. Regardless of your experiences, we saw the strength of our community to support each other both during and after the ordeal. We also saw the pivotal role our school district plays in the Valley as SVUSD ran the shelter in Sonoma for a full week.

For me, this time last year out into perspective what truly matters. The health and well being of our loved ones is most important. As a school we responded by opening our doors to our community. We served over 1000 individuals with basic needs of food, clothing, masks, water and a charging station. People came to us because they trust us as well as the profound sense of community we have built here at EV.

Many of you have decided to let this day pass as any other, others are going to write notes to firefighters and law enforcement, some may decide to do a morning meeting where students can express gratitude or other feelings. However you chose to honor this time it is what is right for you and your family.

With deepest gratitude,

Maite

Fall Festival Dance

Please join us on Friday, October 26 at 6pm for the Fall Festival Dance! Wear your Halloween costume or your pajamas to the event!! We will have face painting, food, dance and fun!!!! We will be calling you for help with food, set up and clean up!!

Parking!!!!

We recognize that parking and traffic are difficult during drop off and prick up. We appreciate all your support in making sure that students are safe. Parking issues are being addressed in a number of ways. Recently, we acquired 6 news spaces on Riverside Dr. We are looking at other options as well to better support families and neighbors.

A friendly reminder to please slow down and drive carefully around the school campus. During pick and drop off please be especially cautious as students are entering and exiting the campus.

In addition, the back lot is for buses and staff only. Students may not be dropped off in the rear lot. You may drop your child off in front of the school (flag pole) or park in front and walk him/her into the school. Family parking will be available in the side lot or in front of the office. We appreciate your support and cooperation in this matter. Thank you!
