An Evening with Jerry Spinelli
Exciting Opportunity!
On Tuesday, January 17th, Doyle families have been invited to see Jerry Spinelli, award-winning author, at 7:00 PM at Warwick Elementary School.
The price is $15.00 for two tickets and a copy of his new book, The Warden’s Daughter. ($18.00 for 3 or 4 family members).
To make your reservation for the evening, call 215-348-7160. This event is sponsored by Ellen Mager of Booktenders’ Secret Garden. See you there!
Electronic Equipment
Some of our children received electronic readers over the holidays. We are thrilled that our children have another incentive to read, but would like to set parameters for school use:
- The school cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to this equipment.
- Teachers in kindergarten through third grade would prefer that students not bring these readers to school.
- Students in grades four through six may use their electronic readers during silent reading times.
5th Grade Human Growth & Development
Human Growth & Development will be taught in 5th Grade on January 12 and 19, 2017.
Parents who would like to learn more about the Human Growth and Development curriculum can find information at http://www.cbsd.org/page/1497.

Parent Positive
Parent Positive is proud to welcome Dr. Jay Stone, PsyD to our parent speaker series. Dr. Stone will be presenting on Wednesday, February 1st at 7:00 PM in the Lenape Middle School Auditorium. His talk will focus on:
Understanding Childhood Brain Development: How to Unlock Potential.
Join James J. Stone, PsyD, Doylestown Health neuropsychologist, to learn tools and strategies to help nurture and maximize your child’s potential. The presentation is designed to help parents understand how their child’s brain processes information at different ages, how skill sets evolve developmentally, and how to translate that knowledge into appropriate expectations of their child. Parents will leave with strategies to empower their child to complete tasks at hand, and an understanding of when to encourage them to try on their own, and when to step in and help.
Registration for this free event is encouraged but not required.
Babysitting is available for children in grades K - 6 and will be provided by CB High School National Honor Society and Key Club students. Drop-off for babysitting will begin at 6:30pm and pick-up will immediately follow the program. Please share the ages of children for which you would like to have babysitting. If babysitting service is needed, pre-registration is required.
This program is part of the Parent Positive Speaker Series, a collaboration among Doylestown Health, CB Cares, the CB School District, and the CB Family YMCA.
